Nostalgic Christmas Wishlist Ideas Trending in 2026

If your ideal Christmas looks like a Hallmark movie set, this is your year. After a few seasons of minimal, all-white trees, decor is getting cozy, colorful, and a little sentimental again.

Because people want Christmas to feel like it did when they were kids. UK retailer The Range says it's seen a real jump in demand for retro decorating, with shoppers trading minimal trees for tinsel, mismatched baubles, and layered, personal styling.

Etsy's seasonal trend reports point the same way, highlighting playful nostalgia and sentimental gifts as big drivers this season. Basically, more is more again.

Vintage-style glass is everywhere. A few favorites worth saving:

• Anthropologie Boxed Glass Cookie Ornaments. A set of six glass cookies for $58 that look straight out of grandma's kitchen.

• Anthropologie Vintage Milky Mini Glass Ornaments. Soft, milky glass in a set of 12 that feels like it came from an old family box.

• Christopher Radko 2026 Glass Ornaments. Collectible glass with nostalgic motifs and whimsical characters.

• Anthropologie Jeweled Cocktail Glass Ornaments. The playful pick, in paloma, espresso martini, Aperol spritz, and dirty martini designs.

Hallmark released over 250 new Keepsake Ornaments at its July premiere, and a second round lands at the Ornament Debut, October 10 to 18. Year-dated ornaments are the ultimate nostalgic gift, since every one becomes a little time capsule.

A few classic-feeling picks from the 2026 Keepsake collection:

• Rocking Horse Memories 2026. Peak old-school Christmas.

• Toymaker Santa 2026. Pure storybook energy.

• Holiday Parade 2026. Cute and very cheerful.

• Stunning Santas. A brand new first-in-series ornament this year, perfect if you want to start a collection from the very beginning.

Tip: add the year and series number in your wishlist notes so nobody grabs the wrong one.

Beyond the tree, these are the pieces giving the most "Christmas at home in 1995" feeling:

• Light-up villages and tiny houses. Ceramic villages are back in a big way, and Anthropologie's Emily Taylor Light-Up Holiday House is a sweet modern take.

• Bubble lights and tinsel. Bubble lights bring that retro glow, and 80s and 90s style tinsel is officially back.

• Felt everything. Anthropologie's Felt Pastry Animal Ornaments ($24 to $32) and Felted Dachshund Advent Calendar are soft, cute, and super giftable.

• Big bows and velvet ribbon. An Organza Bow Tree Topper ($98) or a roll of velvet ribbon instantly makes a tree feel old-fashioned in the best way.

• Knit stockings. Anthropologie's Holiday Sweater Knitted Wool Stocking is cozy cabin vibes in one piece.

• Tartan and gingham. Plaid linens and gingham ribbon are part of the heirloom table trend, very Hallmark movie dinner scene.

Start with a vibe, then build around it. A few easy tips:

• Pick a lane. Cozy cabin, candy-colored retro, or classic red and gold. It helps people shop for you.

• Mix price points. Pair a few ornaments under $20 with one or two bigger decor pieces.

• Save from every store in one place. Your Anthropologie, Hallmark, and Etsy finds can all live on one wishlist.

• Make it pretty. Here's how to make an aesthetic Christmas list that matches the mood.
