I got an iPhone 16 Pro Minimalist Case in black for Christmas and after just a few days of use the black leather was smearing all over anything I would put it against (pant pockets, tables, etc. ). I contacted Bullstrap for an exchange and they would only send another one if I paid for shipping, which I thought to be unfair since it was a defective product but I did it anyway. The second case comes in, the same minimalist black leather case, and after a few days of normal use the black ink is already coming off of it and getting on other things. I'm frustrated because I'm over $100 in and all I have to show for it is a poorly manufactured case that I can't use because the ink smears on everything.

Beautiful case properly made from Top Grain leather—and very well dyed, either aniline or a similar process to make sure the color goes all the way through the leather—and NOT from mere “Genuine Leather”, which you should run from as fast as you can. They send a nice pack of cleaning cloths as well which you should use if you want to keep the surface black and reduce scuffs. The case has metal buttons instead of cutouts, which is important because the small cutouts are too small to fit your finger in consistently and you often fail to press it. The one exception is the new dedicated Camera button, for which they created a BRILLIANT cutout: it still protects the top of the screen with a lip, but is counter-sunk all around the borders down to the bottom of the case to guarantee easy access. This is a big deal because the button has a touch sensitive surface that you can slide your finger over to adjust settings. If this cutout had not been done right the button just wouldn’t work. Lastly for me at least, the bottom has a complete cutout for easy access. I know many people prefer the full surround and I get it, but I end up using weird data cables, SD and other card readers, various docks and friends weird cables with an end so big it simply will not fit. Without this cutout I couldn’t use the phone fully, so I’m super thankful they still offer it. I have not seen an iPhone case better made, or with a better design philosophy than this one. Once I had read through the full description and listened to the founders video that was all I needed to know: I ordered it and didn’t even look at the price. I still don’t remember what it was, and believe me people always ask me: I just send them to the web site. Oh and I’d being doing you wrong if I didn’t mention that I managed to crush my phone between the bottom of door and the floor (don’t ask): the phone didn’t have a scratch but the case was toast and these guys sent me a replacement under warranty. No charge. Whatever the case costs now it’s worth it. Buy one now while you’re still thinking about it, it’s that good. And keep up the good work guys! We appreciate it out here in the field.
