I bought these since this brand usually is really good quality. This star anise though is horrid. They look old, most are closed so no star shape, and if you break them open, a lot don't have the seed. Another brand I used, they were absolutely beautiful. So I just knew I would have better quality with a higher priced brand. I was wrong. Flavoring is not that strong either. Highly disappointed in these. I'll go back to the cheaper, no name brand which was better quality and more flavorful.
