It's requires more work than it should because it overshoots temp too easily. After a few discussions and replacing the fan flap, support told me that 100 deg overshoots are normal. This just doesn't seem right to me. I'd give the unit 5 stars if it weren't for this critical issue which largely offsets the convenience of having a controller. This is my assessment which I gave them but they didn't really respond to: 1. When the fan is off to some degree the oven temp seems to rise inaccurately because when the fan comes on the temp drops. If this were the whole problem maybe it would be a minor issue, but this seems maybe 10-20% of the problem. 2. I've definitely seen the fan running when the temp is above the set temp. 3. The temp can rise dramatically while the fan is off (far in excess of the problem in #1). I can prevent the overheat by watching carefully and using the hold button along with opening the lid to cool down an overshoot. #1 feels like a design issue. When the fan is off some heat must build up by the sensor. #2 must be a bug in the controller. #3 Feels like it could be a design issue that too much airflow is possible when the fan is off. I'm encouraged that by using the hold button I can avoid the issue, so maybe a controller update can address this. But it needs to be very smart and based on rates not just the current temp. You need to sacrifice a bit more speed to achieve accuracy.
