Best Teddy Bears 2026: Top 16 Brands & Picks
“Teddy Roosevelt spared a bear cub in 1902 and these were named after him ever since.”
These bears are on their way to cuddles
INSIDE THIS GUIDE
Teddy bears have been a classic since 1902
Teddy Roosevelt refused to shoot a bear cub on a 1902 hunting trip, a cartoonist drew it, and toy stores never looked back. More than a century later, the teddy bear is a classic gift. Steiff's button-in-ear bears sell out every winter, and plenty of grown adults keep one on the bed, no shame about it. We tracked down sixteen worth actually owning, from $27 GUND classics to Steiff's snake-year collectible.
SECTION 01
Classic Teddy Bears
The bears that earn a spot at every baby shower, wedding, and hospital "get well soon" visit.
1.1
Steiff
Steiff Lio Teddy Bear
A Steiff bear from 1904 sold at Christie's for $170,000 in 1994. This one's dense mohair coat subtly shifts tone depending on how the room's light hits. It's a collector-grade heirloom built to hold its value for decades.
1.2
Vermont Teddy Bear
Teddy Bear Classic (18-Inch)
Vermont Teddy Bear set the industry benchmark for American-made plush, long before modern gifting existed. This classic 18-inch bear features rich buttercream fur and recycled stuffing. The real reason people buy it twice: an actual lifetime guarantee. If the bear ever gets damaged, their facility repairs it entirely free of charge.
1.3
Steiff
Steiff Ben Teddy
This bear is made by a 145-year old German toy maker, so they will stand the test of time. The Ben has a classic caramel coat that's meticulously hand-sewn.
1.4
GUND
Toothpick Classic Bear
GUND's Toothpick has been the internet's favorite weird-looking bear. Floppy whimsical limbs and textured beige fur are the whole appeal. The lightweight, flexible profile makes it easy to pack into a tote bag for travel without taking up real space.

Soft plush bears made for squeezing, cuddling, and snoozing with.
2.1

Cream Kodiak 18" Teddy Bear
Manhattan Toy Company bypassed standard plush design to give the Kodiak a distinctly weighted, substantial feel. It's a cream, weighted plush that's more pillow-like than stuffed animal.
2.2
Jellycat
Bartholomew Bear Junior
Jellycat has a devoted following online, and Bartholomew is one of the reasons why. He's got a delightfully portly silhouette, a sweet nose, and a soft, textured white chocolate coat.
2.3
Jellycat
Jellycat Bumbly Bear
Jellycat gave Bumbly an exaggerated, cartoon-length snout and a stout little tummy instead of the standard round-headed bear shape everyone else copies. Its chunky body is basically asking for squeezy hugs.
2.4
Maileg
Teddy Bear Plush
A vintage-inspired heirloom treasure covered in soft textured linen-blend fabric and finished with a charming pink bow. This bear sits perfectly upright on its own, making it just as beautiful on a bedside vanity shelf as it is inside a cozy reading nook.
SECTION 03
Giant Teddy Bears
When words fall short, these giant teddy bears pick up the slack.
3.1
Morismos
MorisMos Giant Teddy Bear, 4ft

4.3
TeesAndTankYou
Custom Personalized Teddy Bear (T-Shirt)
This is the one for an inside joke or funny memeory. The print is high-weight cotton, crisp and centeredm unlike the crackly iron-on look most custom tees get after one wash.
4.4
Steiff
Mila Teddy Bear Stuffed Animal & Suitcase
This Steiff teddy bear comes with its own suitcase, so your girlfriend can take it on the go. We can’t promise that she’ll use the suitcase for her makeup products or to store her trinkets.
Giving one is like giving a big hug
Every bear on this list earns its spot on the bed, not just the shelf. Pick the one that fits your life or who you're gifting for, and there's no need to explain to anyone why you still sleep next to a stuffed animal.
