The African Swallowtail belongs to the Papilionidae family of butterflies. The butterfly is also known as the Mocker Swallowtail or Flying Handkerchief. The famous entomologist E. B. Poulton described it as the most interesting butterfly in the world. The female of the species is a master of protective disguise. They are remarkably diverse and mimic other butterflies, so protecting themselves against predators. Its wingspan reaches 10–12 centimetres (3.9–4.7 in).   Latin Name: Papilio dardanus.
