My shelf being removed from my room (for dad)

Dad I know its a lot of work but this shelf is hideous and it irks me every time I look at it. I’m trying to make my room more comfortable not just for me, but for friends and family that may come in there, and that shelf (which is meant to hold books, but has irregular shelves) isnt useable. Along side that, it was meant for guitars (plural) and pool stuff, which I have none of. Ive asked for a long time, so please consider.
