Overtone Hair Coloring Conditioner

The product itself is probably great and seeing that it was used on Zendaya to give her the coppery colour she sported on the red carpet a couple of years ago, I was hopeful that it would work on my dark brown hair (colour 2b and previously hennaed with natural henna that tinged it with red) . I realize now that Zendaya’s hair has been previously colour processed and that probably had an impact on how effective this kit was for her. Unfortunately it performed as a henna treatment might on dark hair which is to add a tint which is only visible in direct sunlight. Application got messy because the product was more runny in texture than expected. I even bought sample sizes of vibrant red and extreme orange for brown hair to amp up the results but that didn’t seem to help. I left it in my hair for 4 hours with a plastic cap and a beanie on over it to help but it didn’t. If you want something as subtle as this, there are many more inexpensive semi permanent dyes to choose from. If you’ve got very dark hair that’s never been processed before, honestly just don’t bother. Product smells pretty good and left hair pretty soft.
