Quince European Linen Sheet Set

I see all these 4 and 5 star reviews for these limen sheets . I ordered a set . Out of the package , I was a little disappointed , so first thing I threw them in a hot wash . Got them out of the dryer , and my hopes sunk even further . The fabric is coarse , almost has the same texture as burlap , and out of the dryer there's all these weird wrinkles and where like the edge of the sheets are pressed at odd angles . Just horrible . I kept looking at my 800 tpi Vera Wang and other designer sheets and just became even more discouraged. So I've seen where it is said that the more you wash them , the softer they get . Really ? Like HOW ? Because after the first wash , I was not impressed . So , I washed them five more times , in hot water , using appropriate amounts of borax and washing soda each time , and drying them in medium temps . Still felt the same , and they still had the texture of an outdoor picnic table cloth . I kept them for about three months . Had them on my bed and washed them a few more times . Still coarse , still wrinkly , and the texture is just kind of ugly to look at . I finally gave up , threw them in an empty shipping box and left them at the dumpster for some one else . I > may < try another set with the stripe patterns , but I haven't committed to that yet . In any case , I really don't understand what all the glowing reviews are about , because linen sheets are not it .
