Following up from my LG G2 Review I've owned a few Yamaha sound bars and various subs over the years , I was always happy with them for their performance, build quality and value along with been able to add a separate sub when needed My living arrangements changed and I'm unable to have a separate sub now , the Yamaha soundbar from old sound okay but without a sub it's definitely not as good for sure , also since those older days new sound formats have emerged. Despite the G2 having already an excellent free soundbar and sub (GX ) a demonstration of the B&W wireless speakers from Richard at Cheltenham did sway me in B&W direction. I've read a few reviews and watched a few YouTube channels about the Panarama 3 which are all a bit mixed Again speaking to Karl from KRI Audio visual system installations we decided to let the unit sit on its own rubber feet , which allows the TV to be a little lower to align with my visual field plus the sound bar to make use of its ceiling distance The supplied wall mount wasn't used , it's neat and slots in the back while keeping the bar far enough to allow the up firing speakers to be clear of the TV The sound bar is big and weighty ,it includes everything you'll need along with an EU power Cable if you're planning on using it elsewhere No remotes, you'll need a smart phone and WiFi as once you've set it up everything is done adjustment wise through the app There are on board basic controls for volume which neatly illuminate when your hand nears When I say adjustments! It's treble and bass and that's it on the app, you plug it all in , let it update and it handles the rest. One thing , I've read it doesn't do any DTS and it doesn't, it'll play it as 2 channel pcm which is no where as good sounding as Dolby Any other Dolby format is played well Stereo music sounds really good to me both streamed and via CD , bass is handled nicely as is treble Now Atmos that's where this bar really comes alive , complete different experience and it's phenomenal No sub , no problem at half way it's already room filling loud and those height speakers start pushing sound up and over while the rest handles everything from vocals to a wide range of mids as they bounce around you It really is a different bar when Atmos is played through it Again reading and talking to Richard , B&W have decided this is a one person band built for ease and enjoyment and it is B&W themselves have said the bar is intended to be upgraded firmware wise over time I'm happy this isn't a shallow life product It's Bluetooth enabled so despite not having an external sub there is a possibility I'd imagine if the software allows it , I do hope DTS will be added as the capabilities are all there but more and more media is going down the Dolby road . It's a stunning bar from a British company that makes amazing equipment and I like that If you're a Dolby fan and have mainly Dolby tracks you'll love this , if you've mainly DTS you'll struggle as it'll play them as 2 channel lpcm Play Atmos and you'll be sat there looking for the next reference title to play through it once you're done Richard at Cheltenham highly recommend for the guidance and Karl for his meticulous approach to his work on mounting and set of this sound bar and LG G2 OLED TV
