Office 2024, perpetual license (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote), bought for a Mac, but also works on a PC. Installation is fairly simple, but (obviously) requires a big download. This can be a bit confusing to find, as Microsoft sometimes changes the download location. It only is a code, which works fine, no issues. This occaisionally goes on sale for a few hundred Baht less, if you depend on Office and cannot use the built in MacOS alternative, this is good value.

I have bought a subscription to MS 365 Family through Amazon before. It always worked out OK for me and extended my current remaining days by 365 (so nothing lost). This time it did not do that (I lost about 40 days). Not only that but it established Amazon as the future provider/seller (rather than MS) on auto renew. I can’t even get to see how many days I have left to go in my Microsoft account – a link just pushes you back to Amazon as the seller. Whether I could have done what I managed to do twice before by selecting a different option at purchase, I don’t know. By default, it seems that I had inadvertently applied the “Auto Renew” option thinking it just meant that it would extend my current license with more days. Maybe the “One Time Purchase” (none default) option would have worked the way I wanted/expected it to. It’s so annoying, exactly like having to repetitively dodge taking out a Prime subscription every time you just want to buy something.
