2.3K reviews

GoPro HERO10 is the last version coming with the 4:3 aspect ratio sensor before the company ditched it for more useful 8:7 sensor. However the raw output with the max setting is still impressive even 3.5 years later since its introduction. I compared the results with my iPhone 15 Pro Max (in ProRes setting) and I was surprised how well it fared. Even though it is 5.3k on paper, the lens cannot resolve such resolution (you compare it with 5k from an actual camera and the difference is night and day). However, it is very well balanced image that is plenty sharp for the most modern screens. The lack of 10-bit recording is missed. The stabilization is truly impressive and it offers limited horizon lock which I find plenty for most use cases. Shall you need the full 360 degree horizon lock, there is still an option to purchase Max Mod lens, if you are willing to downgrade to 2.7k resolution. The camera however mostly impressed me with the RAW stills (JPGs are just bad). The dynamic range, sharpness and colors are on point and you will not be disappointed. Compared to the RAW photos from my iPhone 15 Pro Max it beats it by mile event with smaller sensor. The only disadvantage is that the picture is locked to around 15mm focal length with a pronounced fish eye distortion. As mentioned above, battery life is quite poor and so is the low light performance unfortunately. I would recommend this camera to person on budget that doesnt want to spend 50% more on the newer model. The results are honestly just enough for most of people!
