If you like how your photos look already, this might not be for you. I received my copy today, around 40 pages of photos I’ve taken and edited meticulously. The photos came out with really crushed blacks / shadows, most of the details in darker areas were smothered into oblivion. Most gradients, like skies or soft light on walls, exhibit visible color banding that wasn’t there in the original file. If you add text boxes in the book, the letters appear soft as if they’re from a really low resolution camera (like you’re looking at a photo sent to you via SMS on a 2006 Nokia). Some of these limitations come from the paper and printing method, but I imagine some of this is also due to Artifact Uprising’s only accepted image format being JPEG with sRGB color. That means only 8bits, and a the smallest color gamut standard available that wasn’t really designed to make the most of what printer’s can do. Overall, as a serious photographer hoping for a nice coffee table piece, I think the result was low quality and below my expectations.
