Quince Women's Washable Stretch Maternity Slip Dress

I have been wearing and washing silk for years, and have some favorite tops that have lasted 10+ years with handwashing. I was a bit skeptical about this "machine washable" silk but figured I would give it a try. I followed the Quince instructions - each garment in its own garment bag, inside out - delicates cycle - washed with my other delicates - used a silk safe detergent - let air dry on a drying rack. The washing machine resulted in significant damage to the silk, including visible stretching of the silk fibers; loss of shine; and one spot that had been "roughed up." I have since handwashed my other silk Quince garments and have not had these issues. However, being now 23 weeks pregnant, I'm about done with handwashing my clothes and then having to steam them every time. I expect I'll start sending these to the dry cleaner's. So, it's not the "easy, washable, comfortable maternity" silk I was hoping for. It's just your regular silk that can be handwashed. If you want to put it in the washing machine, expect to maybe get like 5-6 wears out of it before you have to throw it out. As far as style, the dress is very comfortable and flattering. I've worn it to church and to dinner, depending on how it's styled. Fits TTS. I'm 5'6" and this is a true maxi that come down to my ankles.
