Cuisinart Grind Brew Single-Serve

Was given this as a gift about a year ago but as we had a working kuerig we hadn't opened it till now. Ran into issues right away when all the brew size lights were flashing once plugged in and turned on so couldnt do the initial cleaning. Per the troubleshooting it was "overloaded" finally with a google search ended up running the decalcification on the brand new coffeemaker, that fixed that issue. However when then trying a coffee pod it ended in a mess of hot water and coffee grinds like many other reviews. Again following all the trouble shooting items noted: turning off for 10 minutes I did longer than that, verified the pod was punctured bottom and top, seated the pod holder, clean and make sure the needles were clear, etc. Same issue 3 times! Gave up and called customer service and told them everything I did per the troubleshooting guide. Once given the serial # and it was out of warrenty best they would do was a 20% coupon. I can understand to a point but to never use it and then open the brand new item that sat in the packaging in a pantry never opened and it doesnt work from the start? Lesson learned, even if you dont plan to use the item right away open it and test it. Not a good impression of quality, we'll go back to a Kuerig seeing it lasted us many years.
