Kate Spade New York Initial Pendant

I got from a friend the rose gold initial necklace plating and I tried to take good care of it (kept it from water) but it wore off too quickly. I'm very disappointed and sad because it looks horrible now (very dark) and I would like to know how can I take the plating out (it doesn't come off on neither sides) and continue to use the necklace with another plating. I live in France now, so I couldn't write directly to you because the form from the website requires a phone from the US. Thank you
