This is my first smart robot since Roomba released their original ones that just bounced all over the place. I was never in a place with my puppies to chance on taking it spreading something smelly all over the house. Now that my dogs are older and my kids are young, I needed help keeping up with all the dog hair and dirt that is tracked all over my home. This thing will clean approximately 1100 sq ft on a full charge. Sometimes it will have to go back and recharge before finishing depending on how dirty my floors are. My favorite feature is the auto dumping when the bin is full and then it will return to where it stopped cleaning to continue the job. It does a fantastic job of picking up my Golden Retriever's hair which is super fine and normally would get blown away by a fan, walking by, etc. It can be pretty loud on "Max" mode but not too bad where I have to raise my voice to talk over it. Navigation is great and I love that i can send it to one spot of my house and do a spot clean (like where my return vents are and dog hair pile up) .
