I only paid $95.17 for my Carbinox Blaze S during Carbinox’s New Year’s Sale. And so far, it appears to be money well spent. They have a variety of watch faces that really look well designed and make me want to wear this watch while going out. I do wish that I could modify the widgets that appear on each watch face though. The always-on display is a nice feature and I have chosen to keep it on. When using Carbinox’s pre-installed watch faces, the always-on screen mirrors each watch face that you have set up, although not for any of the watch faces that are downloaded from their Dial Market. My previous watch was an Apple Watch that died after only two years of use due to water exposure. I’m very excited to see if this will outperform my previous watch, especially due to its titanium and zinc alloy enclosure. The raised bezel on the watch will also protect my screen from any accidental scratches or dings. I really appreciate that they include a tempered glass screen protector! The charger for the watch is ok. The charging is fast and the watch battery gives me 4 days of use (I do have a ton of features turned on). I wish that the magnetic attachment for the charger was a little stronger and if they sold a watch docking station on their website, I would totally buy it. I’ve been using their black stainless steel band to add a bit of dressiness to the watch and it’s very nice. I like it a lot. The rubber band that comes with the watch is also very tactical looking and very comfortable. I have found some bugs in the software when I’m working out: the high heart-rate notification will keep alerting me at when my heartrate reaches 150 BPM, although I have it set to notify me at only at 180 BPM. I have double checked to make sure that I didn’t forget to turn a feature off for the heartrate monitoring, both on the watch settings, and in the app itself. I even disabled heartrate notifications in the GPS portion of the app, but unfortunately, the watch is still notifying me at 150 beats and above. I’m sure this will be ironed out in future a update though. I love how many sports modes they have on their watch. It would be nice if, once I pause my workout, I could exit out of the workout app on the watch to check other things, but I instead have to end my workout before this is possible. The timer on the watch is a nice feature, and it does appear to run in the background. But, when I set the timer, exit out of the timer, and then click on the timer to see how much longer my timer has, the timer resets, deleting my previous timer, which is a little disappointing. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the build and quality of this watch and I’m amazed with the intricate design and attention to detail. There are some software bugs, but with any company, this will be something that takes place. I pray that over time, the software only works better and better with the watch. I could see Carbinox outperforming Apple if they refine their software just a little bit more. Cheers!
